DDR Books will host the release of Watertown writer Lois Hart’s third Gingerbread Gang novel, “Secret of Iron Creek Lake,” Saturday, July 15, noon to 2 pm.
Based in Hart’s own memories of 1950s Watertown, the Gingerbread Gang has solved mysteries and shared thrilling adventures. In this final story, the young teens travel to the Black Hills and learn lessons of self-discovery and acceptance. Hart’s special brand of nostalgia for South Dakota and the decades of her youth make her books attractive to kids and adults.
After attending Huron College and the University of Maryland, earning a master’s in education, Hart taught English and World History (along with other subjects) for 40 years at Mount Marty College. “Secret” is her third novel in the Gingerbread Gang series, and proceeds benefit the Codington County Heritage Museum.
Hart will sign copies of “Secret of Iron Creek Lake,” and she will begin speaking promptly at noon. Please be on time if you wish to attend so as to not disturb other patrons.
DDR Books is located at 7 S. Maple St. in Downtown Watertown. Signed copies are available in-store, and DDR Books will mail books inside the U.S. for the cost of shipping.
