We hope you’re warm at home, tucked up with a good book! But if you need to go out (or need an emergency Valentine’s gift certificate!), don’t waste the trip—stop in to DDR Books and check out our dozens and dozens of new titles.
Numerous bestselling authors are releasing new books right now, including suspense authors John Grisham, Lee and Andrew Child, David Baldacci, and William Kent Kruger. In historical fiction, Diana Galbadon’s and Ruta Sepetys’ latest just arrived last week. Seth Rogen and Katie Couric just published memoirs that are lighting up social media, and Hoda Kotb’s follow-up book of daily reflections has been one of our bestsellers (and makes a great gift). Jodi Picoult threw a fantastic twist into her newest, and National Book Award nominee Hanya Yanagihara’s most recent is a multi-generational, globe-spanning epic for the ages.
We introduced many new titles in our children’s and YA sections for the holidays, and we keep up with the hot series and authors by talking with school librarians and kids (our owners are former teachers, after all:) We have books appropriate for every age, from three months to high school. And if you’re not sure exactly what the child in your life is into these days or what books they already have in a given series, our gift certificates are a perfect way to give the gift of reading!
There are so many great new titles in every non-fiction category, but some highlights include bestselling histories of the Appalachian Trail, American comics and comic books, female WWII resistance fighters, and a sweeping study of the development of humanity—all of which may be found right inside our front door!
We also have a wonderful collection of children’s and YA non-fiction books covering everything from bugs and zoo animals to dinosaurs, atlases, biographies, and world history.
Finally, we are greatly expanding our history and biography sections. Our new stock is PHENOMENAL—it includes classics and recent bestsellers (as well as hard-to-find treasures) in military history, aviation, naval history, international politics and geography, all sorts of biographies…. It has to be seen to be appreciated.
We hope you’ll bear with us through the renovations that will allow us to properly display our improved collection, and we hope to see you soon.
